Mechanic Position - Commercial Fleet Workshop
We are looking for a skilled Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles and equipment. This hands-on role requires strong mechanical knowledge and effective use of tools.
Location: St Helens, Liverpool, WA9
Contract Type: Self-employed
Pay Rate: £110 per day (initial 2-week probation period)
Potential increase to £120 per day based on qualifications
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm
Saturday (as required)
Essential Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent certification (proof required)
- Valid commercial vehicle qualifications (certificates must be provided)
- Minimum 5 years proven experience in commercial vehicle maintenance
- Full UK driving licence
- MOT certification
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on commercial vehicles
- Execute preventative maintenance procedures
- Complete thorough vehicle assessments with detailed documentation
- Work independently while maintaining high quality standards
- Ensure compliance with workshop procedures and safety regulations
Technical Skills Required:
- Advanced diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities
- Strong electrical system knowledge
- Experience with modern diagnostic equipment
- Proven track record in commercial vehicle repairs
Assessment Process:
- Initial 2-week probation period under supervision of Master Mechanic
- Performance evaluation to determine final pay rate
