£13.50 per hour | Zero-hours contract | Weekend availability essential
Vicky’s Practical Support is growing, and we’re looking for another lovely person to join our small team.
This role would particularly suit someone looking for regular weekend work with the opportunity to pick up additional hours during the week.
At present, we can offer approximately 3 regular hours each weekend – around 1.5 hours on Saturday and 1.5 hours on Sunday. These hours are expected to grow as we take on more clients, so we’re looking for someone who is happy to start small and grow with us.
What does Practical Support involve?
No two clients are exactly the same. You might be:
- Providing companionship and conversation
- Helping someone with shopping or errands
- Going out for a coffee or short walk
- Helping with light household tasks
- Supporting someone to get organised at home
- Accompanying someone to an appointment
- Simply being there while someone gets things done
This is not a personal care role.
We’re looking for someone who is kind, reliable, down-to-earth and comfortable working independently. Just as importantly, we want someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with people and will fit well into our small, friendly team.
You’ll need:
- Good availability on Saturdays and Sundays
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- To be reliable and comfortable visiting clients in their own homes
- Good communication skills
- A willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check
- Flexibility to potentially take on additional weekday hours
We try to give clients continuity wherever possible, so this isn't about rushing between dozens of short calls. We want our clients to get to know the person supporting them.
