We are recruiting for an experienced Machine Borer to join a precision aerospace manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining boring machines to produce aircraft components to fine tolerances, ensuring all work meets strict quality and safety standards.
This role requires strong machining knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced production setting.
Shifts will be alternating working early week: 6am - 2pm and lates: 1.55pm - 9.55pm
Key Responsibilities
- Operate all types of boring machines to fine tolerances.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Carry out precision measuring, including imperial measurements.
- Work independently and take responsibility for completed work and quality standards.
- Apply knowledge of horizontal boring practices.
- Follow company procedures including OHM, CMM, and SOPM requirements.
- Maintain accurate records, including Practical Experience Record (PER) books.
- Support training of other personnel where required.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organised working environment to 5S standards.
Experience & Skills
- Strong machining background essential.
- Experience with horizontal boring machines desirable.
- Understanding of machine shop practices and engineering processes.
- Some knowledge of CNC machining advantageous but not essential.
- IT literate with basic computer skills.
- Aerospace experience preferred but not essential.

Pay: £33,800.00-£39,000.00 per year
