WAREHOUSE COORDINATOR
Westcountry Tile Centre – Pool, Redruth
Full-time, permanent
Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm incl lunch break
Occasional Saturdays as required
Westcountry Tile Centre is a thriving, family-owned business specialising in tiles, flooring and bathrooms. We are proud to supply high-quality products to both retail and trade customers and are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable person to join our friendly team.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining warehouse duties, customer service and deliveries. As a small team, everyone helps where needed, so no two days will be exactly the same.
Key responsibilities:
- Receiving, checking and safely storing deliveries
- Safely operating a forklift to move, load and unload stock
- Picking, preparing and booking out customer orders and stock
- Loading and unloading delivery vehicles
- Assisting customers with loading their purchases
- Making local deliveries to customers
- Maintaining accurate stock records
- Keeping the warehouse organised, tidy and well presented
- Supporting customers in the showroom as and when required
- Covering the showroom telephone and responding professionally to enquiries as required
- Providing customers with information and guidance as, when and if required
- Helping with the general day-to-day running of the showroom and warehouse as, when and if required
- Assisting at our sister warehouse/showroom in Falmouth, with dates and times discussed in advance
- Undertaking other reasonable duties to support the team and business
The role involves some heavy lifting and handling of bulky items, as well as standing or walking for extended periods during busy times.
About you:
We are more focused on finding the right person to fit into our team than looking for a specific list of qualifications. You should be friendly, courteous, professional and willing to get involved wherever help is needed.
The successful applicant will:
- Hold a current, valid forklift licence (training could be provided for the right person)
- Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
- Have the right to work in the United Kingdom
- Be reliable, punctual and enthusiastic
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Have a customer-focused approach
- Communicate confidently and professionally with retail and trade customers
- Be organised and able to prioritise their workload
- Have strong attention to detail
- Take pride in the presentation of the warehouse
- Be willing to learn about our products and systems
- Be physically capable of safely handling heavy and bulky products
- Be flexible regarding duties and working hours when reasonably required
Previous retail sales experience is preferred, and experience within the tile, flooring or bathroom industry would be an advantage. Full training will be provided on our products, processes and software.
Working hours:
The normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break.
The successful applicant will also be required to work occasional Saturdays when needed. They may also be asked to provide cover at our Falmouth showroom, with any additional arrangements discussed in advance.
