St Peters Care Home is a residential care home in Herne Bay, we are currently looking for experienced Lead Care Assistants for nights, we have full and part time hours available.
Shift times are 19.45 - 07.45
As the Lead Night Care Assistant, you will take responsibility for:
Medication Management
- Administering all night medications for the home.
- Completing morning medication rounds for two allocated floors.
- Ensuring safe, accurate, and compliant medicines practice.
Leadership & Team Support
- Leading the night shift and ensuring care staff complete their duties to a high standard.
- Providing guidance, support, and direction to the team.
- Maintaining a calm, safe, and well‑organised environment.
Documentation & Record Keeping
- Ensuring all care delivered, incidents, observations, and changes in residents’ needs are documented accurately and at the point of care.
- Maintaining clear, timely, and compliant records in line with regulatory and organisational requirements.
- Ensuring your team also documents their work correctly and consistently.
Resident Care & Key Worker Duties
- Acting as a Key Worker for a group of residents.
- Ensuring care plans, risk assessments, and general assessments are always up to date.
- Delivering person‑centred care and responding to residents’ needs throughout the night.
Hands‑On Care
- Supporting your team with personal care, answering call bells, and general care tasks.
- Responding promptly and appropriately to emergencies.
Handover & Communication
- Providing a clear, accurate handover to the Day Senior and day staff.
- Reporting any changes, incidents, or concerns professionally and promptly.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensuring the welfare, safety, and health of residents, staff, and the building during your shift.
- Following all safeguarding, regulatory, and organisational policies.

The successful person will be required to provide an enhanced disclosure which the Home will organise.
