Speech and Language Therapist – Band 7
Location: Wakefield
Pay Rate: £32 per hour
Contract: Temporary – 5 months (flexible options available)
Hours: Monday to Friday, with potential for long days and weekend cover
Sanctuary Personnel are recruiting for an experienced Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join an acute hospital team in Wakefield. This role is ideal for a skilled Adult Speech and Language Therapist with strong dysphagia experience who is confident managing complex inpatient caseloads and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Flexible contract options are available, with longer placements considered for candidates working part-time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist speech and language therapy assessment and intervention for adult inpatient services.
- Independently manage complex adult dysphagia presentations.
- Complete clinical assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Support patients with communication and swallowing difficulties across acute hospital settings.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (MDT) to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Provide specialist advice, guidance, and recommendations to healthcare professionals, patients, and families.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in line with professional standards.
Applicant Requirements:
- Registered Speech and Language Therapist with relevant professional qualifications.
- Previous experience working with adult patients within an acute hospital inpatient setting.
- Dysphagia trained with experience managing complex adult dysphagia cases independently.
- Ability to prioritise and manage a clinical caseload effectively.
- Strong MDT working skills within a hospital environment.
- Minimum 3 years NHS experience desirable.
Working Pattern:
- Monday to Friday.
- Candidates able to work long days and occasional weekend shifts will be considered.
- Part-time applicants considered with extended contract lengths available.
