Banks Gas has an ongoing sub-contract opportunity for an experienced plumber, or a two-person team (plumber + mate), to join a large-scale renovation project in the central Birmingham area. The work is entirely site-based at a single location, with 12 months of steady work for the right person or team. Immediate start available.
The work
- Installation of unvented hot water cylinders
- Removing electric showers and installing mixer showers
- Fitting mixer taps and associated bathroom plumbing
- Associated pipework, isolation, and commissioning
All materials supplied on site — this is a labour-only role. No chasing merchants, no material mark-ups to worry about.
Who we're looking for
You'll be working largely on your own initiative, so we're looking for someone who can read a job, plan their day, and get on with it to a high standard without being managed.
Essential:
- Plumbing NVQ Level 2/3 or time-served equivalent
- Proven track record working unsupervised on domestic installs
- Ability to problem-solve on site and make sensible decisions
- Own tools, van, and public liability insurance
- CIS registered (or willing to register before starting)
Desirable:
- G3 Unvented Hot Water Systems ticket
- Gas Safe registered
- Gas qualifications and boiler installation experience
- Heat pump installation experience/qualifications
- Second-fix bathroom experience
This role suits a self-employed plumber working solo, or a plumber-and-mate team.
