The Role/Candidate
BID Group Ltd is seeking skilled and experienced Gate & Barrier Engineers to join our expanding Perimeter Security Management (PSM) division, operating remotely across the South and South West
This role involves the installation, servicing, maintenance, repair, and fault finding of a wide range of automatic gates, barriers, turnstiles, and associated perimeter security equipment.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- Installation, servicing, repair, and maintenance of:
- Automatic gates
- Barriers
- Turnstiles
- Access control systems
- Associated security equipment
- Fault diagnosis and reactive repairs
- Delivering excellent customer service on-site
- Identifying and discussing additional works with customers when required
- Working independently and as part of a team
- Occasional overtime and nights away when necessary
About You
To be successful in this role, you must be:
- A competent engineer with proven experience in the installation, servicing, and repair of automatic gates, barriers, turnstiles, and associated equipment
- Conversant with all aspects of gate and barrier systems, including access control
- Confident and professional with strong face-to-face customer skills
- A proactive problem solver and self-starter
- Flexible, reliable, and willing to work overtime when required
- A strong team player
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within the gate and barrier industry
Advantageous but not essential:
- Electrical or mechanical qualifications
- DHF or Gate Safe accreditation

Hours/Location/Salary
Location: South & South West
Salary: Salary will be discussed at interview stage and will be dependent upon skills and experience)
Hours of Work: Basic 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, Overtime available as required.
