We're looking for an experienced Production Area Manager to join our Manufacturing team on nights at our Scunthorpe site. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about developing teams, driving performance and delivering continuous improvement.
The Role
Reporting to the Production Shift Manager, you’ll take ownership of a designated production area, leading a team of approximately 20-30 Production Operatives to deliver exceptional standards across safety, quality, people, and performance. You’ll play a key role in achieving production targets while driving improvements in efficiency, cost, quality and team capability.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (10PM to 6AM)
Key Responsibilities
As a Production Area Manager, you will:
· Lead, motivate and develop your production team to achieve high levels of performance
· Deliver the daily production plan while ensuring productivity and efficiency targets are met
· Promote a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with company policies and legislation
· Drive quality standards by investigating issues, reducing non-conformances and striving for right-first-time production.
· Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs), presenting performance updates and action plans at daily shift meetings.
· Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste and control costs.
· Manage labour and resource planning to maximise operational efficiency
· Support the development of colleagues through coaching, training and succession planning
· Work collaboratively with Engineering, Technical, Warehouse, Planning and other departments to deliver site objectives.
· Ensure high standards of housekeeping, hygiene and food safety are maintained at all times.
The Ideal Candidate (Requirements & Experience):
You’ll be an experienced manufacturing leader with the ability to inspire and develop others. Ideally, you’ll have:
· Previous experience in a Production or Area Manager role within a manufacturing environment, preferably FCMG
· A proven record of leading teams and delivering operational performance
· Experience in driving continuous improvement and achieving KPI targets
· A good understanding of Health and Safety, food safety and quality standards
· Strong communication, planning and organizational skills.
· The flexibility and adaptability to support the needs of a fast-paced manufacturing operation.
· Good IT skills and experience using production systems.
