Davies Contractors Limited is a firmly established, family run business based in Newport, South Wales. We undertake all aspects of building and maintenance work for housing associations and local authorities.
Experience in working in social housing is required, or new build equivalent.
We are now looking for a multiple Plumbers to join our team working in and around the Newport (Gwent) , Cardiff and surrounding areas.
We have both self employed and employed opportunities available. Having access to a work vehicle would be advantageous. Where available a vehicle may be provided.
Job Purpose:
Installs, maintains, and repairs pipes and fixtures associated with heating, cooling, water distribution, and sanitation systems in residential properties. Works are typically carried out in domestic properties, usually kitchen and or bathrooms.
Job Duties:
Installs pipes and fixtures, such as sinks and toilets, for water, gas, steam, air, or other liquids
Installs supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation
Assembles fittings and valves for installation
Modifies length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed for a building
Tests plumbing systems for leaks and other problems
Analyses problem and identifies appropriate tools and materials for repair
Chooses plumbing materials based on budget, location, and intended uses of building
Performs inspections of plumbing systems to identify and replace worn parts
Assess, plan and request parts and materials required to carry out the work.
Report to Site Managers any faulty plant, appliances, installations or equipment which do not comply with the current Safety regulations.
Ensure properties are left in a clean and safe manner on completion of work.
Carry out appropriate alternative work as and when required.
Record and document work activities/deliveries as per the Company procedures.
Carry out work at heights using ladders, scaffolding and carry out work in confined spaces and in a variety of work conditions that may prevail at that time.
