Help Prevent Homelessness Before It Happens
SeAscape has been supporting people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity across Ayrshire for more than 27 years. We believe preventing homelessness requires more than simply finding someone a home. It means providing practical support, building positive relationships and helping people overcome challenges before they reach crisis point.
We're looking for a motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our innovative I'M IN! Project , helping individuals and families remain safely housed and avoid homelessness. The project focuses on early intervention, tenancy sustainment and homelessness prevention, particularly for people living in the private rented sector.
About the Role
As part of SeAscape's regulated Housing Support Service, you will provide person-centred support to people who are at risk of homelessness. You will work alongside individuals, landlords, local authorities and partner agencies to identify issues early, prevent tenancy breakdown and improve long-term housing stability.
You will:
- Deliver practical and emotional housing support.
- Support people experiencing housing difficulties, rent arrears or risk of eviction.
- Develop person-centred support plans and review outcomes.
- Help people build budgeting, tenancy management and independent living skills.
- Work closely with local authority services, landlords and partner organisations.
- Promote positive outcomes that enable people to sustain their homes and thrive within their communities.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting vulnerable individuals and/or families.
- Is passionate about preventing homelessness and supporting positive change.
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Can work independently and as part of a multi-agency team.
- Has good IT and record-keeping skills.
- Understands person-centred and outcome-focused support approaches.
- Holds (or is willing to work towards) an SCQF Level 6 qualification in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
- Has a full driving licence and access to their own vehicle.
Experience within housing support, homelessness prevention, tenancy sustainment or trauma-informed practice would be advantageous.
Why Work for SeAscape?
At SeAscape, our values of Respect, Integrity, Empowerment, Innovation and Collaboration shape everything we do. You'll be joining a supportive and dedicated team committed to making a real difference in people's lives every day.
