Mean Eyed Cat Bar & Tiki Hideaway are looking for an experienced General Manager to lead our team and deliver exceptional guest experiences across Manchester's most exciting late-night venues.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of two unique concepts operating under one roof. Mean Eyed Cat is renowned for its lively atmosphere, great drinks and late-night energy, while Tiki Hideaway offers a vibrant cocktail-led escape with an unforgettable party atmosphere. We're looking for a confident, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and knows how to create memorable nights for every guest.
This role is ideal for someone who leads from the front, inspires their team, and has the operational expertise to oversee every aspect of the business. You'll be responsible for driving performance, maintaining high operational standards, managing compliance, and ensuring both venues consistently deliver outstanding experiences.
Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of Mean Eyed Cat Bar & Tiki Hideaway, ensuring consistently high standards of service, atmosphere, and compliance across both venues.
- Lead, motivate, and develop both front and back of house teams, creating a positive, high-performing culture.
- Manage the kitchen operation, ensuring food safety, hygiene, allergen management, and all kitchen compliance standards are maintained.
- Take ownership of all Health & Safety, licensing, and food safety compliance throughout both venues.
- Confidently lead busy late-night trading sessions while maintaining exceptional guest service and operational control.
- Coordinate multiple bookings, events, and guest experiences across both concepts, ensuring every service runs seamlessly.
- Drive sales, profitability, labour management, stock control, GP performance, and monthly stocktakes to achieve business targets.
- Maintain and grow the reputation of both venues as must-visit destinations within Manchester's nightlife scene.
- Lead by example on the floor, supporting your team during peak trading periods and creating the energy that defines both brands.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a General Manager within a high-volume hospitality environment.
- Proven experience managing busy late-night venues.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Experience managing kitchen teams with a sound understanding of food safety legislation and compliance.
- Strong commercial awareness, including experience managing budgets, labour costs, GP, stock control, and financial performance.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and decision-making skills.
- A genuine passion for hospitality, nightlife, and delivering memorable guest experiences.
