Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our construction and infrastructure team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost estimation, control, and financial reporting throughout the lifecycle of projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to large-scale developments, ensuring projects are delivered within budget and to the highest standards. Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, ensuring alignment with project specifications and client requirements.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process, identifying variances and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
- Conduct detailed tender analysis, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Manage change orders, variations, and claims to minimise financial impact on projects.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure financial objectives are met.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects for auditing and reporting purposes.
- Analyse project performance data to improve future cost estimation processes and optimise resource utilisation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and company policies related to financial management.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction or infrastructure sector.
- Demonstrable expertise in cost control, budgeting, and financial planning for large-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, contractual procedures, and legal frameworks.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or equivalent programmes is preferred.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., MRICS or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
