Labourer / Driver – Steel & Construction
Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester
We are an established steel and construction company based in Oldham and are looking for a reliable, hardworking Labourer / Driver to join our team.
This is a varied, hands-on role involving a mixture of workshop duties, site work and deliveries. We are looking for someone who is dependable, physically fit and happy to get stuck in wherever needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver steel and materials to customers and construction sites across the region
- Safely load and unload steel, tools and other materials
- Assist with loading and preparing company vans for deliveries and site work
- Carry out general labouring duties
- Assist with painting and preparation of steelwork
- Help with site setup and general duties on construction sites
- Lift, carry and move materials safely
- Operate hand tools and power tools when required
- Support other members of the team to complete jobs efficiently
- Keep workshop and working areas clean, organised and safe
- Follow all company health & safety procedures
What We're Looking For
- Full UK driving licence – essential
- 7.5 tonne (C1) driving licence/entitlement – preferred
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual work
- Good attitude and strong work ethic
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools would be beneficial
- Willingness to learn and take on different tasks
- Previous labouring, construction, steelwork or delivery experience would be an advantage, but the right attitude is equally important
About the Role
No two days will necessarily be the same. One day you may be helping in our workshop in Oldham, preparing and painting steelwork, and the next you could be loading a vehicle and delivering steel to a construction site.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, turns up on time and is willing to help the team get the job done.

Pay: £12.77-£13.50 per hour
