Night Care Assistant – Full-Time and Part-Time Positions

Broadland View Care Home is looking for kind, reliable and compassionate Night Care Assistants to join our friendly team.
We are a residential care home supporting older people living with dementia. We are recruiting for both full-time and part-time night positions and are looking for people who are committed to providing safe, respectful and person-centred care throughout the night.
The Role
As a Night Care Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting residents with personal care, continence care, repositioning and comfort needs
- Completing scheduled wellbeing and safety checks
- Supporting residents who may wake during the night feeling confused, anxious or distressed
- Providing calm reassurance and emotional support
- Supporting residents with food, drinks and hydration where required
- Assisting residents with mobility and safe transfers
- Responding promptly to call bells and requests for assistance
- Following individual care plans, risk assessments and night-time routines
- Monitoring residents for changes in their health, behaviour or wellbeing
- Reporting concerns promptly to the senior carer or manager
- Completing care records accurately and at the point of care
- Maintaining a safe, calm and comfortable environment throughout the night
- Supporting with light domestic duties where required
- Following safeguarding, infection-control, moving and handling, medication-safety and confidentiality procedures
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is compassionate, patient and respectful
- Is reliable, punctual and able to work throughout the night
- Has a genuine interest in supporting older people and people living with dementia
- Can remain calm and reassuring in challenging or unexpected situations
- Can work well both independently and as part of a team
- Communicates clearly with residents, colleagues, relatives and healthcare professionals
- Understands the importance of dignity, privacy, choice and person-centred care
- Is willing to complete all required training
Previous care experience and relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential, as full training and support can be provided to the right applicant.
Hours and Contracts
We are currently offering:
- Full-time night contracts
- Part-time night contracts
Applicants must be available to work a flexible rota, including weekends and bank holidays.
