We are looking to recruit 3 highly skilled and conscientious Scientists to join the team based at our Deeside site. The job holder will be an integral part of the team working primarily in one of the three scientific areas in the AST & Pharma group: Pharma, R&D or IVDR, contributing to the activities linked to agreed scientific and regulatory standards using microbiological technical knowledge and skills in line with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate should be willing to actively engage and contribute their technical knowledge, to aid the progression of portfolio development, bringing relevant products to successful manufacture and commercialisation.
THE ROLE
- Responsible for carrying out existing and new product development in line with regulatory standard (IVDR, IOS 9001 and ISO 13485).
- Involvement in generation of experimental data and subsequent data analysis.
- Conduct literature review of investigations conducted, carrying out research studies and analysis.
- Conduct work in line with process and procedure (SOPS).
- Carry out investigation of customer complaints, product problems and assist with validation studies as required.
- Support laboratory technicians in technical skill and knowledge development.
- Maintenance and update of technical files.
- Participate in cross functional discussion and presentation of data at stage gate meetings.
- Support technical training to sales, marketing and laboratory staff.
- In addition to the specified duties the Scientist is expected to perform additional tasks that the company may require.
THE PERSON
- Degree in microbiology or relevant scientific discipline.
- Minimum 2 years in R & D, biomedical or relevant lab environment.
- Good understanding of laboratory scientific principles and experimental techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Competent in Microsoft office applications.
- Experience of analysis and preparing technical reports for conducted research.
- Experience within a QMS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or with a team.
- Attention to detail and ability work to deadlines.
- Knowledge of GDP (Good document practice).
- Understanding of regulatory compliance (ISO13485 / IOS9001 an advantage).
In addition to the specified duties the employee is expected to perform additional tasks when reasonably called upon to do so.
