Job Overview
We are looking for a caring, responsible, and professional Support Worker to provide high-quality care and support to young children with a range of emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs
Key Responsibilities:
Provide compassionate, person-centred support to children in a safe and nurturing environment.
* Support children with challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support and effective de-escalation techniques.
* Safely manage incidents involving distressed or aggressive behaviour and use approved physical intervention/restraint techniques when required and in line with relevant policies and training.
* Build positive, trusting relationships with children while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
* Support children with daily routines, activities, personal care, learning, and social development.
* Observe and monitor behaviour, identify potential triggers, and provide appropriate support to prevent escalation.
* Record daily activities, behavioural incidents, progress, and any safeguarding concerns accurately.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, social workers, and other professionals to ensure consistent care and support.
* Promote children’s independence, confidence, wellbeing, and emotional development.
* Follow safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality, and organisational policies at all times.
* Remain calm, patient, and professional when dealing with challenging or emergency situations.
Essential Requirements Minimum
3–4 years of relevant experience as a Support Worker or in a similar care/childcare role is mandatory.
Previous experience working with young children or young people is essential. Experience managing challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure. Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
Compassionate, patient, responsible, and reliable approach.
Willingness to complete or hold relevant safeguarding, first aid, behaviour management, and physical intervention training.
Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, or shift patterns where required. What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience.
