Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner (or Early Years Practitioner) to join our dedicated and supportive childcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of children aged 6 months to 4 years, creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals committed to early childhood education and childcare management. Candidates should possess good communication skills, a caring attitude, and relevant nursery experience.
Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging activities tailored to the developmental needs of children in accordance with early years curriculum standards.
- Supervise children during play, meals, rest periods, and outdoor activities to ensure safety at all times.
- Support children's emotional and social development through positive interactions and behaviour management strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and any incidents or concerns.
- Foster effective communication with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and daily routines.
- Ensure the nursery environment remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in the organisation of nursery routines and contribute to team meetings to improve childcare practices.
- Support colleagues in managing daily operations and provide leadership when required to ensure high standards of care.
Experience
- Previous experience working within a nursery or early childhood education setting is highly desirable.
- Demonstrable management or leadership skills within childcare environments are advantageous.
- Proven ability to work effectively with children, demonstrating patience, creativity, and enthusiasm.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to liaise confidently with children, parents, and team members.
- Knowledge of child development principles and early years legislation is preferred.
- Valid driving licence may be beneficial for roles involving outings or transporting children between locations.

Pay: Up to £29,000.00 per year
