We are looking for an experienced, organised and customer-focused Bar Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our bar. The successful candidate will be confident leading a team, maintaining high standards and ensuring the bar runs smoothly, efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the bar. Lead, support and motivate bar staff, ensuring excellent customer service at all times. Act as a key holder, opening and closing the premises safely and securely. Carry out cashing-up duties, including balancing tills, recording takings and following cash-handling procedures. Take responsibility for cash security and accurate end-of-shift procedures. Manage stock levels, ordering and rotation of drinks and bar supplies. Take responsibility for cellar management, including stock rotation, cleanliness, temperature checks and maintaining appropriate cellar standards. Complete or undertake cellar management training as required. Monitor beer, wine, spirit and soft drink stock and minimise waste. Ensure the bar is clean, well presented and fully stocked at all times. Ensure licensing, health and safety, food hygiene and responsible alcohol service procedures are followed. Monitor customer service and deal professionally with any queries or issues. Assist with the organisation and smooth running of functions, events and golf club activities including the use of our simulators. Liaise with suppliers and management as required. Assist with staff rotas, training and day-to-day team management. Maintain accurate records of stock, wastage, deliveries and cash. Create and deliver bar specials/cocktails
About You
- Previous experience in a bar, hospitality or supervisory/management role is essential. Confident leading a team and working independently. Strong organisational and communication skills. Trustworthy and responsible, particularly when handling cash and managing the premises. Good knowledge of bar operations, stock control and cellar management. Excellent customer service skills and a professional approach. Able to remain calm and organised during busy periods. Flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends and during events. Cocktail making essential. An interest in golf and experience working within a golf club environment would be desirable.
