Job Summary
We are taking on an Associate Assessor to deliver the **Open Awards Level 3 Network Cable Installer Experienced Worker Assessment (Copper and Fibre)**. This qualification is aimed at experienced network cable installers who are already competent on site and need their skills formally recognised. Your job is to assess that competence — remotely, efficiently, and to the standard.
Responsibilities
- Carry out remote assessments of experienced workers against the qualification standard, using professional discussions, workplace evidence, photos/video evidence, and witness testimony
- Plan assessments with candidates and keep them moving — our model is built on fast, well-organised completions
- Judge portfolios covering copper (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A) and fibre optic installation, termination, splicing, and testing
- Complete assessment records, feedback, and tracking documents accurately and on time
- Work with our Lead IQA to make sure every portfolio stands up to external quality assurance
Requirements
**Essential:**
- Solid, verifiable occupational background in structured cabling / network infrastructure — both copper and fibre (installation, termination, splicing, OTDR/certification testing)
- Assessor qualification: Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (CAVA/TAQA), or legacy A1/D32-D33
- Confident working remotely — professional discussions over video call, digital portfolios, e-signatures
- Organised, responsive, and able to manage your own caseload
**Desirable:**
- ECS card or equivalent industry card
- Experience with Experienced Worker Assessment routes or fast-track competence-based qualifications
- Knowledge of relevant standards (BS EN 50173/50174, fibre safety practices) - Experience working with Open Awards or similar awarding organisations.

Pay: £250.00-£350.00 per day
