We are currently on the lookout for a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Chobham, Surrey. They are seeking to appoint a dedicated, caring and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join its committed and supportive team of education professionals.
This rewarding role will involve providing tailored one-to-one support for a named pupil in EYFS and KS1, helping them to access learning, build confidence and thrive throughout their primary education. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff, the SENCO and families to ensure the child receives the highest level of support.
This is a long-term role linked to the named pupil and is expected to continue until the pupil leaves the school at the end of Year 6, subject to the pupil remaining on roll until leaving for Secondary school.
About the role:
The successful candidate will provide dedicated support for a named child during lessons, playtimes and wider school activities. In addition to 1:1 support, the role may include delivering small group interventions and assisting with wider classroom activities where appropriate.

Key responsibilities:
- Provide consistent and personalised support for a named pupil across the curriculum.
- Adapt learning activities to meet the child’s individual needs and learning style.
- Support the pupil’s emotional wellbeing, social development and confidence.
- Encourage independence and positive engagement in school life.
- Assist class teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Run small group interventions to support literacy, numeracy or social development.
- Help prepare learning resources and maintain a stimulating classroom environment.
- Support transitions, routines and structured learning activities.
- Work closely with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to implement support strategies.
- Monitor progress and share observations with relevant staff.
- Build positive relationships with parents/carers and contribute to review meetings where required.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
- Ensure the pupil can participate fully in lessons, trips and wider school activities.
- Support safeguarding, welfare and wellbeing at all times.
We are looking for someone:
- With experience working with children, ideally within a school or SEND setting (desirable but not essential).
- Is patient, compassionate and able to build strong trusting relationships.
- Understands the importance of consistency, routine and encouragement.
- Can work flexibly across different age groups and learning needs.
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Is committed to helping every child achieve their potential.
- Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (desirable).
- Is willing to undertake relevant training and professional development.

This position is full-time, term time only, and due to start ASAP for the right candidate, with the roll continuing in September 2026 for the next academic year. Salary dependent individual candidates experience and qualifications.
