We're recruiting on behalf of a leading care provider seeking an outstanding Commissioning Manager to drive service development and provider relationships across the Dundee area. The Role
As Commissioning Manager, you'll have responsibility for the strategic and operational commissioning of care services across the region. You'll lead from the front, creating strong partnerships with providers, ensuring services meet quality standards, and driving continuous improvement across the local care market.
Working closely with senior leadership, you'll be responsible for market shaping, contract management, quality assurance and ensuring commissioned services consistently deliver excellent outcomes for service users.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commissioning of high-quality care and support services, ensuring value for money and positive outcomes for service users.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with care providers, local authorities, health boards and other key stakeholders.
- Analyse market data and service user needs to inform commissioning strategy and identify gaps in provision.
- Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring providers meet quality, compliance and performance standards.
- Monitor and review provider performance, addressing concerns and driving continuous quality improvement.
- Manage commissioning budgets effectively, balancing cost efficiency with quality outcomes.
- Support market development initiatives to build capacity and resilience within the local provider market.
- Ensure full compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks and commissioning best practice.
About You
To be successful, you'll be an experienced commissioning professional with a strong blend of strategic thinking, commercial awareness and relationship management skills.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a commissioning, contracts or procurement role within health and social care.
- A proven track record of managing provider relationships and improving service quality.
- Strong understanding of the health and social care market, regulatory requirements and best practice frameworks.
- Experience negotiating and managing contracts with external providers.
- A genuine passion for improving outcomes for service users and communities.
- Strong financial and analytical skills, with experience managing budgets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Relevant professional qualification in commissioning, health/social care management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
