Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a Class 2 lorry equipped with a HIAB crane, delivering goods to various locations whilst ensuring compliance with all safety and road regulations. We are prepared to train the right candidate in the use of the HIAB. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in commercial driving and delivery services to utilise their skills in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving experience, particularly with flatbed loads, and demonstrate excellent organisational skills to manage deliveries efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 lorry for the transportation and delivery of building materials. We are willing to train the right person in the use of our cranes.
- Load and unload cargo using the HIAB crane, ensuring secure handling of flatbed loads.
- Plan delivery routes effectively to meet schedules whilst adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon completion of deliveries.
- Communicate professionally with clients, suppliers, and team members regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during transit.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards, including proper securing of loads and safe operation of equipment.
- You will be required to help out in the yard when not out on deliveries. This will include loading customers vehicles, bagging up aggregates, helping to keep the yard running efficiently.
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with relevant experience in commercial driving.
- Valid CPC
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deliveries daily.
- Excellent communication skills and professional attitude towards clients and colleagues.
Pay: From £15.00 per hour
