Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our vibrant educational team. In this role, you will provide vital support to students aged 16-19 with diverse learning needs, fostering an inclusive and nurturing environment.
- Assist teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored for students with disabilities, including those with autism.
- Support children during classroom activities, ensuring they stay engaged and on task.
- Provide one-on-one assistance to students with special educational needs, including toddlers and young children with developmental delays.
- Facilitate communication between students and staff, helping to foster positive interactions and understanding.
- Help create a safe, welcoming environment by supervising children during lessons, breaks, and outdoor activities.
- Support classroom organization, including preparing materials and maintaining a tidy learning space.
- Collaborate with teachers and specialists to monitor student progress and adapt support strategies as needed.
Experience
- Prior experience working directly with children in educational or care settings is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting individuals with autism or other disabilities demonstrates your ability to meet diverse needs effectively.
- Excellent communication skills are essential for building rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A proactive attitude combined with patience and empathy will help you succeed in this dynamic role.
