Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Lead to join our team in GB. Based at our school, this role is vital in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, aligning with our mission to support every young life.
Responsibilities
Safeguarding Compliance and Administration
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date safeguarding, child protection and welfare records across all school sites, ensuring documentation is complete, well organised and readily available for review, audit or inspection.
· Maintain safeguarding chronologies, case files, referral records and action logs in line with school policy and statutory guidance.
· Monitor safeguarding actions, deadlines, meetings and follow-up tasks to ensure concerns are progressed appropriately and in a timely way.
· Ensure safeguarding files contain current and relevant information, including referrals, meeting notes, plans, professional reports, risk information and communication logs where required.
· Track and record actions arising from safeguarding meetings, multi-agency communication and child protection processes.
· Promote consistency of systems, templates, filing standards and safeguarding compliance practices across all three school sites.
Quality Assurance and Monitoring
· Carry out regular compliance checks on safeguarding records, child protection files, welfare documentation and related pupil records across all sites.
· Identify gaps, inconsistencies or overdue actions and escalate these promptly to the DSL, DDSL or relevant leaders.
· Support the preparation of information and evidence for inspections, audits, safeguarding reviews and local authority monitoring activity.
· Produce reports, summaries and safeguarding compliance updates for senior leaders as required.
· Contribute to the review and improvement of safeguarding-related systems, templates and administrative procedures.
Communication and Partnership Working
· Act as a first point of contact for routine safeguarding administrative queries from staff, parents/carers and external professionals where appropriate.
· Support communication with families and professionals regarding meetings, paperwork, referrals and follow-up actions.
· Liaise with external agencies and professionals to ensure safeguarding information is submitted accurately, securely and on time.
· Work closely with the DSL, DDSL, SENCO, pastoral staff and school leaders to ensure joined-up and compliant safeguarding processes across all sites.
· Travel between the school’s three sites as required in order to maintain oversight, consistency and effective working relationships.
General School Compliance
· Maintain confidentiality and ensure the secure handling of pupil, family and staff information in line with GDPR and school policies.
· Support compliance with relevant statutory safeguarding guidance, Independent School Standards and school procedures linked to child protection and welfare records.
· Contribute to the development, implementation and review of safeguarding-related administrative procedures.
· Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade and nature of the post as reasonably required by the school.
General Responsibilities
· To promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with the school’s safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
· To work at all times in accordance with school policies, procedures and professional expectations.
· To maintain high standards of confidentiality, professionalism and integrity.

Pay: £30,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
