Taylors the Bakers is a family-run bakery and food manufacturing business producing artisan baked goods for our customers. Our despatch team plays a key role in ensuring products are picked accurately, handled safely, and delivered on time to meet customer requirements.
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a well-established, high-volume, fast-paced food manufacturer as a Despatch Operative / FLT Operator. We are recruiting for one night shift position.
Key Responsibilities
· Ensure the correct quantity and quality of product is despatched to the right customer at the right time.
· Marshal and pick product in line with customer picking notes and despatch instructions.
· Liaise professionally with high-profile customers and maintain excellent customer service standards.
· Check product availability and promptly communicate any shortfalls to the appropriate team.
· Load and unload vehicles safely using approved equipment.
· Store empty baskets and trays as instructed.
· Record and reconcile customer usage of baskets, trays and pallets (where applicable).
Candidate Requirements
· Valid counterbalance forklift truck licence (clamp experience preferred).
· Full UK driving licence.
· Efficient, organised, and able to communicate clearly (written and verbal).
· Flexible and capable of maintaining high standards in a fast-paced environment.
· Able to plan and manage workload with minimal supervision.
· Strong problem-solving skills and able to work to strict deadlines.
Shift Pattern & Benefits
This role operates on a 4 days on / 4 days off shift pattern. We offer a competitive salary and holiday package, a workplace pension (following the qualifying waiting period), and ongoing FLT training as part of the role.
