Job Description
*Assisting with the day-to-day running of the after school club, including setting up and clearing away.
*Ensuring there is enough equipment for the children to explore and play with – creating different play areas and play opportunities.
*Preparing and providing a health snack, refreshments in line with the club’s ‘healthy eating policy’.
*Supervising play opportunities with children.
*Contributing towards the planning and preparation of age appropriate activities and supporting children with these.
*Respecting and building a professional relationship with the school / setting where we run our after school club from.
*Assisting and supporting the club Playleader / manager
*Understanding CIW legislation and minimum standards.
*Understanding the importance of specific training and the need to complete courses such as paediatric first aid, safeguarding etc
*Communicating with parents on a daily basis
*Supporting any children who attend the setting with specific needs
*Understanding and abiding our company policies and procedures
*Ensure you are always friendly and welcoming to all the children who attend the setting.
*Above everything – making sure the children feel safe and happy.
Qualifications: Level 3 is essential in CCLD or Playwork
Current First Aid, safeguarding and Food Hygiene Certificates an advantage.
Experience: Experience with children aged 3 – 11 years preferred and experience of playwork a definite advantage.
Rate of pay: £12.71 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate will be a lively, enthusiastic, self-motivated person who is able to work both as part of a team and on their own initiative. They must be able to get on well with, and respect all children and adults, must be prepared to ‘muck-in’ with all tasks and must have a good understanding of safety awareness and risk assessment.
Candidate must be willing to undergo relevant initial and on-going training and DBS checks.
Two references will be required at interview stage.
