JOB DESCRIPTION
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
The role with be split into two areas:
- 70% direct delivery to support the progress and intention of tenants
- 30% delivery and facilitation of social engagment activities
Housing and Tenancy
- Liaise with BCC to ensure housing benefit claims are live. Where necessary, support tenants to resolve issues and collect the requested documents.
- Manage personal charge arrears directly.
- Maintain outcome and impact monitoring database
- Support ladies to manage concerns and conflicts with other tenants
- Update, organise and manage online database so that all information is recorded accurately.
- Help ladies to design their support plan. Complete documentation such as sign-up paperwork, risk assessments, incident reports, log notes etc and carry out monthly reviews.
- Carry out all relevant activity that relates to the ladies’ support plans, including mandatory duties such as room checks, employment support, housing applications and healthcare registration.
- Carry out any housing-related duties that support the upkeep of proactive and positive housing environments.
- Upkeep of impact monitoring records
- Clean and prepare rooms after tenants have left, ready for new tenants.
- Compliance and H&S checks and duties
- On-call duties.
Community and Wellbeing
- Encourage and support ladies to attend community groups and wellbeing workshops
- Facilitate and deliver fun and social group activities
- Mentor ladies to develop their life skills, confidence, responsibility and employability to live independently without support.
- Network in relevant communities, groups and partnerships to develop the network of community activity and raise the profile of BASE.
- Demonstrate commitment to Equality and Diversity.
- Sensitively and professionally challenge traditional approaches to support. Operate the BASE way.
COMPETANCIES
The role would suit an individual with strong leadership skills and initiative, who is able to engage with women from all walks of life. Compassion, empathy and non-judgement are essential as well as experience of 'at risk' groups.
To be successful, you will have:
- Genuine passion and drive to support women to better their situations
- Experience of delivering intensive housing management
- Knowledge of housing compliance and H&S
- Ability and confidence to make decisions
- Ability and integrity to manage conflict and difficult situations
- An understanding of person-centered service delivery
- Ability to be self-motivating, work under pressure and manage time effectively
- Strong initiative and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once
- Clear and concise record keeping and communication skills
- An understanding of outcome monitoring and social impact
- Action focused service delivery
- Enhanced DBS
- Driving license preferred
