Job Title: Senior Financial Accountant
Location: Birmingham (Nechells, B7)
Salary: £50,000–£60,000
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time, Office Based
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–6:00pm (40 hours per week)

Overview
We are working with a well-established and growing specialist manufacturing business in Birmingham to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant.
You will oversee the company's day-to-day financial accounting activities, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing Monthly Management Financial Reports including forecasts.
- Managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
- Cash management including bank reconciliations and cashflow reporting.
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations including follow up and resolution.
- Identifying, developing, and implementing process and system improvements for maximum efficiency and compliance
- Manage stock take and reconciliation of book stock to physical stock count results
- Month end process and closing.
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards
- Supporting external audits
Essential Experience/Skills:
- Full professional accountancy qualification (e.g., CCAB, CIMA, ACA, ACCA)
- At least 5 years post-qualification experience
- In-depth knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS and financial regulations
- Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, SUMIFS, VLOOKUP) with experience in financial modelling, automation, scenario analysis, and KPI dashboard reporting
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficient with accounting software
- Proactive self-starter with experience managing a small finance team
- Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset
- Excellent organisational, planning, and time-management abilities
- Effective communicator with strong analytical skills
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently
Desirable Experience:
- Used Sage 200
- Experience working in the healthcare or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry
