Duties
- Safely operate various types of delivery vehicles, including flatbed trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Plan efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals while optimizing fuel and time management
- Load, secure, and unload goods carefully to prevent damage during transit
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to confirm delivery schedules and address any issues promptly
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to maintain optimal safety standards
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, receipts, and documentation for each shipment
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo as needed, ensuring proper handling of fragile or heavy items
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar driving role, preferably with commercial driving background
- Familiarity with flatbed trucking operations and securing loads for safe transport
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus but not mandatory for all roles
- Knowledge of local traffic laws, safety protocols, and route planning techniques
- Prior experience with delivery driver responsibilities such as loading/unloading cargo and customer service is highly desirable
