This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Health clinical leader to join our leadership team and shape the future of an established, highly regarded service.
As Occupational Health Nurse Manager, you will provide professional leadership for UCL's Occupational Health nurses, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality clinical care across a broad portfolio of occupational health services. Reporting to the Head of Occupational Health, you will lead a team of Occupational Health nurses, providing clinical oversight, operational direction and professional development while fostering a positive, collaborative and inclusive team culture.
This is a varied leadership role combining strategic responsibility with hands-on clinical practice. You'll oversee services delivered by the OH nursing team including occupational health case management, immunisation programmes, health surveillance, and pre-enrolment screening for professionally regulated students. You'll work closely with operational colleagues to manage clinic capacity, improve service delivery and ensure resources are effectively managed.
You'll play a key role in driving continuous improvement, leading clinical audits, developing policies and procedures, supporting digital service development and maintaining SEQOHS accreditation. As a member of the Workplace Health Leadership Team, you'll contribute to the strategic direction of the service, champion innovation and help shape occupational health provision for one of the UK's leading higher education institutions.
Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you'll maintain a clinical presence within the service, supporting case management and ensuring the highest standards of evidence-based occupational health practice.
Please note, this is a full-time role offered on a hybrid working basis with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite at our London Kings Cross office (subject to change). Please note additional onsite days will be required as and when due to the nature of our OH services.
During the first two months of probation the successful candidate will be on site full time for their induction programme. You will also be required to undergo occupational health screening and a DBS check before being confirmed in post

We're looking for an experienced Occupational Health manager leader who is passionate about delivering outstanding clinical services and developing high-performing teams.
You'll be a registered nurse with current NMC registration and significant experience of leading occupational health services in a complex organisation. You'll have a strong track record of managing clinical teams, driving service improvements and maintaining high standards of clinical governance and quality.
You'll bring excellent knowledge of occupational health practice, including case management, health surveillance, immunisation programmes and health screening, alongside a sound understanding of employment and health and safety legislation. Comfortable balancing strategic leadership with operational delivery, you'll be confident making evidence-based clinical decisions and building trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
You'll also be an effective communicator with excellent organisational skills, strong IT capability and experience of using clinical information systems to support service delivery and reporting. Most importantly, you'll share UCL's commitment to inclusion, collaboration and continuous improvement, bringing the leadership and vision needed to help our Workplace Health service continue to evolve and deliver an exceptional experience for our staff and students.
