This Welfare Rights Officer post is a varied and challenging role working predominantly with Derby City residents living with cancer and other life‑limiting or end‑of‑life conditions. You will undertake benefits checks and give support with benefits claims, including challenging incorrect benefit decisions. The role ensures that clients and their families receive fast, sensitive support at a difficult time, helping them to secure the income they are entitled to. You will be a part of a supportive and collaborative team of advisers.
Our ideal candidate would be someone who wants to help vulnerable people and has an interest in supporting people living with cancer and other life limiting conditions. Experience of giving welfare rights advice is essential, as is experience of maintaining case management systems.
