Job Summary
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Vehicle Technician to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles to ensure optimum performance, reliability, and safety. Candidates must hold an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and have previous experience working with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) vehicles.
Job is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm (flexible), Saturday overtime available.
Base salary starting £40,000 - £45,000 subject to experience with bonus scheme negotiable for the right candidate.
28 days holiday per annum including bank holidays.
Duties
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections using technical manuals, diagnostic equipment, and schematics.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults and identify necessary repairs or replacements.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension components, and electrical systems.
- Read and interpret technical diagrams, wiring schematics, and manufacturer repair procedures.
- Safely undertake heavy lifting and handling of vehicle parts and components.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, repairs, services, and parts used.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications, company procedures, and health and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by clearly explaining repairs and responding professionally to customer enquiries.
- Stay up to date with the latest automotive technologies, particularly those relating to Jaguar Land Rover vehicles.
Essential Skills & Experience
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Proven experience as an Automotive Technician.
- Previous experience working with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) vehicles is essential.
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex vehicle faults.
- Sound knowledge of vehicle assembly processes and routine maintenance procedures.
- Ability to perform equipment repairs efficiently and safely.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Physical capability to undertake heavy lifting and work in various positions around vehicles.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a busy workshop environment.
