NEW ABS SHEET EXTRUSION PLANT - Primex Plastics Ltd (wholly owned subsidiary of Primex Plastics Corporation USA) extrudes Polyethylene, Polypropylene and ABS Sheeting products supplying into the industrial, Packaging and Leisure business sectors. This profitable company operates 6 production lines on a 3 shift 5-day operation.
Shifts Mon – Fri 41.25 hrs/week 0645-1500hrs, 1445-2300hrs, 2245-0700hrs
With the opening of a new ABS Sheet manufacturing facility adjacent to the current plant and with further growth, Primex Plastics Ltd are looking to recruit a fully skilled Shift Maintenance Technician.
Salary £36,000 - £46,000 dependent on experience. Gainshare Production bonus scheme in place (Maximum payout 55hrs/Qtr). Overtime rate 1.5 Mon-Fri, 1.75 Sat / Sun.
Holidays 22 + 8 Statutory
Shifts 0645-1500hrs,1445-2300hrs and 2245-0700hrs Monday – Friday as well as additional hours to suit the needs of the business.

Role / Responsibilities
The successful candidate will report directly to the Maintenance Manager. A multi skilled role with a preferred electrical bias, with responsibility for reactive breakdown repair, PPM, installation, and maintenance on a wide range of manufacturing equipment and plant.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety policies, procedures, and regulations while reporting safety and performance issues
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and deliver safety-critical maintenance tasks within specified timeframes
- Manage maintenance work order processes including raising defects, planning, scheduling, and recording reactive, proactive, and conditional-based maintenance
- Communicate all information thoroughly across all shifts and departments
- Oversee contractors during out-of-hours work to ensure compliance with work instructions, safe systems of work, risk assessments, and permit requirements
- Actively participate in safety reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
Applicant requirement
· Must have a flexible can-do attitude with the ability to work with minimum supervision to suit production demands.
· Hold a relevant qualification NVQ, City and Guilds, ONC, in an Engineering related discipline.
· Time served with an electrical bias.
· Experience of Plastics processing / Temperature control / Process equipment is preferred.
· This position will involve additional hours as required to support the needs of the business.
· Knowledge of fault-finding diagnosis and repair of a wide range of production machinery.
· Minimum 3 years post held in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
· Counterbalance Forklift license advantageous but not essential.
