Employment: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £48,000–£55,000 basic salary + performance-related bonus/company car or car allowance + benefits
About the Company
We are a successful and growing independent foodservice wholesaler, supplying a diverse range of customers across the East Anglian region. Our reputation has been built on quality products, competitive pricing, reliable service and, most importantly, strong personal relationships with our customers.
As an independent business, we are able to offer a more personal and flexible approach than many of the larger national wholesalers. We are now looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Regional Sales Manager to help drive our next phase of growth.
The Role
As Regional Sales Manager, you will take responsibility for developing sales and growing customer relationships across East Anglia.
This is a hands-on, field-based sales leadership role, ideal for someone who understands the foodservice market and enjoys winning new business while developing long-standing customer relationships.
You will have responsibility for the regional sales performance and will also lead and support a small team of telesales colleagues, ensuring strong communication between field sales, telesales and the wider business.
You will be responsible for:
o Developing and implementing a regional sales strategy to achieve revenue and margin targets.
o Growing sales across the existing customer base through strong account management and commercial development.
o Identifying and securing new business opportunities across the region.
o Building strong relationships with independent caterers, restaurants, hotels, pubs, care homes, schools and other foodservice customers.
o Understanding customer requirements and working closely with the wider business to deliver the right product, service and commercial solutions.
o Managing and developing key customer accounts.
o Monitoring competitor activity, market trends and customer requirements.
o Leading, motivating and developing a small telesales team, with telesales colleagues reporting directly into the Regional Sales Manager.
o Working closely with the telesales team to identify opportunities, generate leads, develop existing accounts and maximise customer spend.
o Setting clear objectives and KPIs for the telesales team and monitoring performance against agreed targets.
o Ensuring effective collaboration between field sales and telesales to provide a joined-up approach to customer development.
o Working collaboratively with purchasing, operations, telesales and delivery teams.
o Maintaining an accurate sales pipeline and providing regular sales forecasts and reports.
o Representing the company professionally at customer meetings, industry events and other relevant opportunities.
o Supporting the continued growth and development of the wider sales team.
About You
We are looking for a proactive, driven and commercially focused sales professional who understands the foodservice industry and is comfortable operating in a competitive market.
Ideally, you will have:
o Proven experience in foodservice, wholesale, FMCG or a related B2B sales environment.
o A strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
o Experience of leading, managing or developing a telesales or sales team would be advantageous.
o Existing knowledge and contacts within the East Anglian foodservice market would be highly advantageous.
o Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
o The confidence to approach and win new customers.
o Strong commercial awareness, including an understanding of margins and profitability.
o Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
o A self-motivated and organised approach to managing a regional territory.
o The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a wider team.
o Strong leadership and coaching skills.
o A full UK driving licence.
Most importantly, you will be someone who enjoys sales, understands customers and wants to make a real difference within an independent business.
What We Offer
In return, we offer the opportunity to join an ambitious and growing independent foodservice wholesaler where your contribution will genuinely be recognised.
The package includes:
o £48,000–£55,000 basic salary, depending on experience and track record.
o Attractive performance-related bonus/commission.
o Company car or car allowance.
o Company phone and laptop.
o 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays.
o Pension scheme.
o Fantastic opportunity for career progression.
o Supportive and entrepreneurial working environment.
o The opportunity to make a significant impact on regional growth.
o The opportunity to build and develop a small telesales function alongside the regional field sales operation.
Why Join Us?
This isn't simply a role managing an existing territory.
We are looking for someone who can build something — someone who can identify opportunities, open doors, develop relationships and help establish our business as a leading independent foodservice wholesaler throughout East Anglia.

If you're currently working for a foodservice wholesaler, distributor, manufacturer or another B2B food-related business and are looking for your next challenge, we'd love to hear from you.
