Role Overview
As a Domiciliary Care Worker with GYC, you’ll be part of a dedicated and supportive team delivering personal and practical care to individuals in their own homes. This is a highly rewarding role for those who want to make a real difference in their local community, supporting clients with a wide range of care needs while promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality personal care in service users’ homes, including:
- Washing and dressing
- Catheter and stoma care
- Toileting and continence support
- Support mobility needs using approved techniques and equipment
- Assist with meal preparation and serving food and drinks
- Supervise and support medication routines, maintaining accurate records
- Help maintain clean and safe living environments by:
- Performing light household tasks (e.g. laundry, cleaning, tidying)
- Supporting shopping or errands, if outlined in the care plan
- Monitor and report changes in the service user’s condition to the Care Manager
- Keep detailed records of care delivered, in line with company policy
- Use the Electronic Call Monitoring system to log all home visits
- Work in accordance with Social Care Wales’ Code of Conduct and GYC’s values
- Follow all company policies and procedures, especially Health & Safety protocols
- Participate in ongoing training and development (fully provided by GYC and partners)
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required in line with individual care plans
