Belmont Care Home is seeking a dedicated and reliable Cleaner to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout our care home, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, a proactive approach, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of resident rooms, communal areas, and facilities to meet infection control and hygiene standards
- Dust, vacuum, mop floors, clean windows, mirrors, and sanitise bathrooms and high-touch surfaces
- Replace linens and towels as required, ensuring presentation meets care home standards
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to the Home Manager
- Adhere strictly to health and safety and infection control protocols
- Respond to resident and visitor requests in a courteous and professional manner
- Assist with additional cleaning or housekeeping tasks as directed by management
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in care home or commercial cleaning is preferred but not essential
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and bank holidays if required
- Understanding of health and safety practices within a care environment
- Friendly, approachable, and resident-focused attitude
