Job Summary
Kessingland Pharmacy is looking for a friendly, reliable Healthcare Counter Assistant to join our team. You’ll be the first point of contact for our patients and customers, helping with prescriptions, over-the-counter queries, and day-to-day pharmacy operations. We’re after someone who takes pride in great customer service and enjoys being part of a supportive, close-knit team.
Hours
- Average 33.5 hours per week
- Includes alternate Saturday mornings
- No evenings, no early starts, no Sundays
Duties
- Greet and assist customers and patients with professionalism and courtesy
- Process prescriptions and manage medication orders accurately
- Advise patients on medication usage and potential side effects
- Keep the workspace organised, ensuring medications are stored correctly and safely
- Support inventory management, including restocking shop shelves and checking for expired stock
- Work closely with pharmacists and the pharmacy team to ensure smooth patient care
- Handle customer queries and resolve issues promptly and effectively
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and confident communication with patients and colleagues
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to stay calm and positive in a busy environment
- A genuine interest in healthcare and patient wellbeing
- Prior experience desirable but not essential, full training provided for the right candidate — including support to complete a GPhC-recognised Healthcare Assistant qualification
