Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide attentive service at the checkout counter
- Accurately process sales transactions using point-of-sale (POS) systems, including cash, card, and mobile payments
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area to ensure efficiency and safety
- Assist customers with product inquiries, merchandising, and locating items throughout the store
- Upsell relevant products or services to enhance customer satisfaction and store sales
- Handle customer questions or concerns with professionalism, demonstrating excellent communication skills and phone etiquette
- Manage cash register operations with basic math skills, ensuring accurate change and transaction records
- Support inventory management by restocking shelves and organizing merchandise as needed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely checkout processes during busy periods
- Promote a positive shopping experience through friendly interaction and active listening
Requirements
- Multilingual abilities are highly valued; fluency in English or other languages is preferred
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with diverse customers and team members
- Basic math proficiency for handling cash transactions accurately
- Excellent organizational skills to manage checkout stations efficiently
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours
- Knowledge of phone etiquette for assisting customers via phone or in person
- Experience in merchandising or retail sales is a plus but not required; training will be provided
