As Senior Building Surveyor, you’ll manage a varied portfolio of domestic and healthcare properties across England, combining technical expertise with hands-on project delivery. You’ll have real autonomy to shape maintenance, compliance and capital investment across our national property portfolio.
What you'll do

Manage your own portfolio, planning and prioritising planned and reactive works.

Carry out building surveys and pathology inspections, diagnosing defects and recommending solutions.

Manage PPM schedules, budgets and capital projects from inception to completion.

Ensure properties meet statutory, regulatory, health & safety and fire safety requirements.

Manage contractors, monitor performance and ensure works are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Work closely with Service Managers and Maintenance Coordinators to deliver high-quality property services.

Build strong relationships with contractors and internal stakeholders.
Skills/Experience required

Chartered Building Surveyor Property: MRICS or MCIOB

Experience managing multiple sites and projects, ideally in housing, social care or healthcare, but not essential

Strong knowledge of building regulations, statutory compliance, CDM and health & safety.

Strong contractor and stakeholder management skills.

Good Excel and digital systems skills.

Excellent organisation and communication skills, with the confidence to work independently.

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays.
Working pattern
This role involves travel across a region, and you will typically spend 3 days visiting services/sites across the region and 2 days working from home, depending on priorities and workload. Travel expenses and accommodation are covered in line with company policy.
