Key Account Manager
Location: Birmingham / Hybrid
Salary: £38k + Commission
About the role An established UK IT distributor is looking for an experienced
Key Account Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of strategic reseller partners. This role focuses on driving long-term revenue growth, reactivating dormant accounts, and increasing share of wallet through proactive, consultative selling across a broad hardware and services portfolio.
You’ll build strong, multi-level relationships with partners, act as a trusted advisor, and collaborate closely with internal teams to deliver a high-quality customer experience.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and develop key reseller accounts, including MSPs, VARs, and IT e-tailers
- Identify growth opportunities through share-of-wallet and account analysis
- Drive upselling, cross-selling, and switch-selling opportunities to increase revenue and margin
- Promote a full portfolio of hardware and services, supporting multi-solution selling
- Maintain strong vendor knowledge to provide credible, value-led advice
Pipeline & Operational Management
- Deliver accurate forecasting and pipeline reporting on a weekly basis
- Use CRM systems consistently to record account activity, opportunities, and follow-ups
- Manage quotes end-to-end, ensuring speed, accuracy, and commercial awareness
- Oversee the sales cycle through to order processing and delivery, in line with SLAs
Requirement
- Proven experience in account management or internal sales within IT distribution or a reseller-focused environment
- Strong understanding of IT hardware and associated services
- Track record of meeting or exceeding revenue or gross profit targets
- Confident sales planning and account strategy capabilities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities
- Confident user of CRM systems and modern sales tools
- Knowledge of the UK IT channel and reseller business models
- Experience managing strategic or high-value accounts
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
