About the Role:
OSSAS IT Digital Solutions is looking for a Software Architect to join our Manchester team. You will define the technical structure of web, mobile and business applications and help engineering teams build software that is scalable, secure and maintainable.
This role is suited to an experienced software professional who enjoys solving complex architectural problems and making practical technology decisions. You will work with developers, project teams and technical stakeholders to turn product requirements into clear system designs and implementation plans.

Key Responsibilities:
Software Architecture:
Design scalable and maintainable architectures for web, mobile and business applications.
Technical Planning:
Translate product and business requirements into clear technical approaches and implementation plans.
System Integration:
Define reliable integration patterns between applications, APIs, databases and external services.
Architecture Review:
Review proposed technical solutions and identify risks related to security, performance, scalability and maintainability.
Technology Selection:
Evaluate frameworks, platforms and tools and recommend technologies that match project requirements.
Development Guidance:
Provide technical guidance to engineering teams and help resolve complex design and implementation issues.
Cloud Architecture:
Design applications and supporting services for cloud environments using appropriate deployment and infrastructure patterns.
Performance:
Identify architectural changes that improve application speed, availability and resource efficiency.
Security:
Apply secure design principles to authentication, authorisation, data handling and application integration.
Technical Documentation:
Maintain architecture diagrams, decision records, technical standards and system documentation.
Quality Standards:
Promote consistent engineering practices across development, testing, deployment and code quality.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work with technical and non technical colleagues to explain architecture decisions, tradeoffs and implementation risks.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
Several years of professional software engineering experience with responsibility for application design or technical architecture.
Software Engineering:
Strong understanding of modern software development principles, application architecture and engineering practices.
Architecture Knowledge:
Experience designing APIs, distributed applications, integration services and scalable software platforms.
Cloud Experience:
Practical experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform or similar cloud technologies.
Data Knowledge:
Good understanding of relational databases, non relational databases, data modelling and application data flows.
Security Awareness:
Strong understanding of secure software design, access controls and data protection principles.
Technical Leadership:
Ability to guide engineering decisions, review technical approaches and support developers with complex problems.
Problem Solving:
Ability to evaluate several technical options, identify risks and recommend practical long term solutions.
Communication:
Strong spoken and written English with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
Mindset:

Pay: £5,200.00-£6,000.00 per month
