Crystelle Tutors is a specialist online language tuition provider, currently offering French and Spanish and expanding into Portuguese and other languages.
We are looking for an excellent Portuguese tutor to join our growing team and work with students and adults with a wide range of goals, from academic and examination success to fluency, conversation, travel, work and personal enrichment.
We are particularly interested in tutors who can provide structured language progression, working with learners from beginner A1/A2 through to advanced C1/C2, using the CEFR framework where appropriate, as well as supporting formal qualifications such as GCSE and A Level Portuguese.
The role
- Deliver engaging, high-quality one-to-one online Portuguese lessons tailored to each learner's goals.
- Teach across speaking, listening, reading and writing, developing both confidence and accuracy.
- Work with learners at different ages and levels, from beginner to advanced.
- Support structured progression through CEFR levels A1–C2 where appropriate.
- Prepare students for GCSE and A Level Portuguese and other recognised language qualifications where relevant.
- Adapt lessons to each learner's needs, interests and learning style.
- Provide thoughtful feedback and maintain excellent standards of preparation and communication.
About you
- Native or near-native Portuguese proficiency with excellent command of the language.
- Strong experience teaching or tutoring Portuguese.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for language teaching.
- Warm, engaging and able to build strong relationships with learners.
- Comfortable teaching both practical communication and structured language development.
- Experience with GCSE/A Level or other formal language examinations is desirable.
- Familiarity with the CEFR framework (A1–C2) is desirable.
- A relevant degree and/or teaching qualification is preferred.
- Enhanced DBS required.
