Hours: 28.5 per week
Salary: £23,371
Location/base: Across Shropshire & Telford with some hybrid working
Expectations: Minimum of 2 days per week in base office with flexibility for hybrid working, dependant on the needs of the business.
Holidays: 26 days plus statutory holidays per annum to be calculated pro rata

Axis overview
Axis Counselling is a charity which has been supporting survivors of sexual abuse for over 30 years. We support adults and children aged from 5 years and over, plus family members and loved ones. We currently provide services via our five departments: Counselling; Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) Service; Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) Service; Complex Care Pathfinder and Training/ Education.
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To work within a multi-agency setting to provide independent, survivor centred specialist service and advocacy to survivors who have experienced sexual abuse/violence, and their loved ones, to:
- Risk assess and help clients keep safe
- Identify support needs and provide direct support in the form of coping mechanisms and emotional support; or help clients access the services they require
- Help clients access their rights
- Help clients access health and other services they require
- Monitor and keep client informed of case progress
- Provide support through the criminal justice system (if applicable)
- Help clients cope and recover
- Emotionally support non abusive parents/caregivers where appropriate, provide information about understanding trauma responses in their child and provide psychoeducation support.
The successful applicant will be required to understand and operate within the Axis organisation’s policies, procedures and guidelines and work to the principles of equal opportunities.
