Our nursery is situated in a purpose-built building opened in 2018, which has recently been renovated and redecorated to create a bright, modern learning environment. We are also fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful parks, gardens and local attractions, all of which are regularly incorporated into our curriculum to enhance children's learning and development.
As our nursery continues to grow, we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Toddler Room Leader who is excited to grow with us and become an integral part of our future.
Role Overview
The Toddler Room Leader will be responsible for leading the toddler room, ensuring children receive exceptional care, learning opportunities and support in a safe, stimulating environment. The successful candidate will lead by example, support and mentor the room team, and work closely with the Nursery Manager to maintain the highest standards of practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the toddler room.
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Create a safe, caring and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.
- Lead, motivate and support practitioners within the room.
- Monitor children's development and maintain accurate observations, assessments and learning records.
- Build positive and professional relationships with parents and carers.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are followed at all times.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, organisation and presentation within the room.
- Work collaboratively with the management team to continually improve the quality of care and education.
Person SpecificationEssential
- Level 3 qualification (or above) in Early Years Education and Childcare.
- Previous experience working within a toddler room in an early years setting.
- Experience leading a room or mentoring other practitioners.
- Strong understanding of the EYFS framework.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
