The Role
This role is ideal for a practitioner who combines a love of early years education with a strong commitment to inclusion, consistency and SEND support.
As an Early Years Practitioner, you will:
- Deliver high-quality care and learning in line with the EYFS and nursery curriculum
- Build secure, trusting relationships with children and their families
- Support children’s curiosity, independence and confidence through meaningful learning opportunities
- Promote children’s physical and emotional wellbeing through a nurturing and consistent approach
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and operational procedures to maintain outstanding practice
As SENCO, you will:
- Lead the identification and support of children with special educational needs and disabilities
- Coordinate SEN support plans, referrals and EHCP processes in line with nursery procedures
- Work closely with parents, colleagues and external professionals to ensure joined-up support
- Promote inclusive practice across the nursery and support staff through guidance and coaching
- Maintain accurate documentation and oversee regular reviews of children’s progress and outcomes
- Ensure SEND provision reflects current legislation, EYFS guidance and nursery SOPs
You will receive protected supernumerary time to fulfil SENCO responsibilities effectively.
What We’re Looking For
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 4+ and SENCO training desirable)
- Experience supporting children with SEND within an early years setting
- Good knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and EYFS framework
- Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills
- A reflective practitioner committed to inclusive, child-centred practice
- Passion for supporting children, families and colleagues
