Job Overview
We are a growing, well-established business based in Tredegar, looking for an experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper to support our finance function. This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll become an important part of our team and help ensure the smooth running of our day to day finances. This role involves managing financial records reporting directly to the MD, processing transactions, and supporting the organisation’s accounting functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial data, carrying out accounts payable processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant financial procedures. Responsibilities
- Processing purchase and sales invoices
General finance and administration duties
- Bank reconciliations
- Credit control and supplier payments
- Experience with VAT and CIS returns
- Payroll processing (desirable but not essential)
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Monitoring job costs and ensuring costs are allocated correctly.
- Raising invoices from completed jobs.
- Reconciling the job management system with Xero.
- Preparing management accounts and reports
- Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve queries
- Liaising with our external accountants
- AAT qualification or qualified by experience (desirable)
Skills
- Previous bookkeeping experience (minimum 2 years preferred)
- Excellent knowledge of Xero accounting software
- Experience of using (project management software Construction AI) is preferable but not essential
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- The ability to work independently and manage their own workload
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
