Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Wakefield from September 2026. This full-time role offers an ongoing opportunity, with a competitive daily rate of £95–£105, depending on experience. The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes both inside and outside of the classroom.

Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND needs.
- Assist teachers in adapting lessons and resources to meet individual learning requirements.
- Support pupils' communication, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning.
- Deliver targeted interventions to help pupils achieve their individual targets.
- Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals where required.
Skills
- Experience supporting children with SEND in a primary school setting.
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach to learning and behaviour support.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Confidence supporting pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
- A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
