Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our small team at PAWS Boarding Kennels. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional animal care, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and supporting the team in caring for our guests (Dog and Cats) This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about animal welfare and customer service, the position is paid and suitable for those looking to develop their skills within the animal care industry.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily care and cleaning of animals in the kennel, ensuring their wellbeing and comfort.
- Feed animals according to specific dietary requirements and monitor their health status.
- Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and other equipment to maintain hygiene standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering client questions and updating them on their pet’s condition.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping
- Handle heavy lifting when necessary, including moving supplies or equipment around the facility.
- Observe animals for signs of illness or distress and report concerns
Requirements
- Previous animal care qualification is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
- Genuine passion for animal welfare and caring for pets.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional manner.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends or holidays if necessary.
