First Option Healthcare are a Complex Care provider who specialise in providing care to Children & Adults with Complex needs in their own home. You’ll deliver personalised care and support to our clients in their own homes to help maintain dignity & self-worth and promote independence.
We are looking for a caring, compassionate, bubbly & energetic nurse to look after a 18 year old girl in her own home with previous experience of providing person centred care and quality care for children/adults with learning disabilities and experience with managing seizures.
The role will involve sensory & play therapy alongside a variety of activities such as bike rides, swimming & walks in the park with our client.
This job is for both Day shifts and Night shifts
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide 2:1 & 1:1 care to patients in their own home
- Build rapport with family members and other staff members
- Making sure care plans are followed and client dignity & respect is practiced
Requirements for the role:
- A minimum of 2 years UK experience working with clients with clinical complex needs
- VNS: (Vagal Nerve Stimulator) Experience
- Enteral Feeding - Via a Gastrostomy & Mickey Button
- Seizure Management - Severe Epilepsy & Tonic/Chlonic/Absent Seizures
- Oxygen Therapy - Replenishing Oxygen After Complex Seizure
- Play Therapy & Sensory Play
- Medication Administration
- Manual Handling - Manual Hoisting/Repositioning
- Ensure care plans are followed and changes escalated to clinical leads
- Supporting clients outside the home i.e. medical appointments, family trips and days out
Shift Patterns
Mondays - Sundays nights - Nights (1:1) 21:00-08:00 or 22:00-08:00
Mondays - Sundays days (2:1 working alongside support of HCA) 15:00 - 21:00 / 08:00 - 18:00 (Weekends)
